First Mates
The YMCA Presidio Aquatics Club also offers a "First Mates" program as a stepping stone between swim lessons and the competitive youth swim team. This non-competitive class meets twice per week, giving students either the basic skills needed for participation with the competitive swim team or a non-competitive alternative with a low Instructor:Participant ratio. Swimmers work on building endurance and refining stroke technique.
Red Lanes
This is our entry level competitive swimming group. Swimmers focus on stroke technique in all strokes and building up their endurance. Red lane swimmers are expected to swim 90 minutes at least three times per week on Monday through Friday afternoons.
